summer 08

I'm ridiculously upset right now because I just typed an entire post and for some reason it all got deleted. Yeah, uh sort of ruined my week. So now I just have to start over and do the best I can, but I'm gonna be honest it will not be that great. My sister decided to point out to me my extreme failure at documenting my summer...and I have to agree with her. The minimal posts that I did actually make were quite pathetic. So in an attempt to somewhat redeem myself I am including some pictures and highlights of what happened. (Pictures are on the previous post so check that out.) Anyways the summer started out with my roommates coming down to wonderful sunny California to visit. And let me just say we had so much fun! We went to the temple, Six Flags, Golf n Stuff...and so much more. Of course went to Wicked. 3rd time's the charm what can I say. I've loved it so much everytime. I'm so glad they decided to come. I figure I live in their state for 8 months out of the year, they can live in mine for a few days. :) We went to the beach a lot (where I inevitably locked my keys in the car--perfect I know. way to go Micaela, nice move!) That story however need not be detailed at the sake of saving myself from comments. but I will say that it was NOT fun. nor was it in any way easy. We went to Santa Barbara and did some shopping. Camarillo outlets as well. Basically just played in the sun all day and loved every minute of it. Anyways after all that it was just work. I nannied this summer and it was completely fabulous. I just love kids so much, and this was really the perfect job for me. I worked for 4 families, total of 9 kids. I grew to love them all so much, especially one family in particular. They had 4 kids, and the most adorable little 2 year old boy who I absolutely fell in love with. I wanted to take him home with me I swear. haha He even called me "My Caela" and it was so amazing. So I was pretty busy with the 9 kids, but when I got the chance I hung out with my friends back home too. I went to graduation where I got to see the rest of my best friends get their diplomas. Crazy that they're all grown up! (and most actually older than me.) At the end of June it was time for the family trip to Colorado. It was so much fun, we all really loved it. We spent a day at Winter Park which was awesome. Hours of jumping on huge trampolines with harnesses attached and racing down the alpine slide. My older niece Kelsey (3 at the time) loved it and she would race everybody down, the little dare devil. Thanks to everyone for coming because I really loved it and I miss seeing you all! We also went to hammond's candy factory where we got to see how they made all that delicious candy and get some freebies too. It was delicious what can I say. Then I decided to fly to Vegas for the 4th of July weekend so I could spend some more time with my sister and brother-in-law and the little baby girls! I love them dearly. We lit off and watched tons of fireworks, then swam all night. The next day it was up to Pine Valley to catch up with some more family at our cabin. Spent the weekend fishing and shooting. Kelsey of course caught the first and biggest fishes of the whole weekend. I only say fishES because it wasn't only one. She caught lots! I think it was a fun time had by all. Then back down to Vegas for Kelsey's birthday and birthday party where I tried to help Andrea with everything I could do. It was so much fun and now I miss them all so much! Back home again after that where it was just back to work and trying to manage spending time with friends and family. August of course brought the long and anxiously awaited release of Breaking Dawn--the 4th and final installment in the Twilight Saga for those of you who don't know. I was of course there for the midnight party at Borders and had wristband #8. Yes I am proud. :) haha I read it 3 times before I came up to school and it was amazing just so we all know. Then the week after was the BD concert series and book signing. Amazing night, one of the best I've had in...forever. Stephenie Meyer is an incredible author and seeing her and talking with her was fantastic. I went with one of my best friends Brianna and we made AMAZING shirts the night before. They totally dominated, and were absolutely the best ones there, no doubt about it. It took a lot of time, but so worth it, while of course we watched Never Back Down. I highly recommend it by the way because it's wonderful. Then it was a reunion of sorts when the first girl of the group decided to run off and get married. :) Crazy I know but she was beautiful. Got to see a lot of friends I haven't seen in so long and it was a lot of fun. I had to say goodbye again to all my best friends. It was really hard, and didn't turn out exactly as I thought but all is done with now. I miss everyone and I love you all. Now I'm just back up at school and just finished my first week of school here. It's been interesting, and incredibly stressful but I'm really hoping I can figure everything out. Kickboxing by the way totally kicked my butt on the first class, no pun intended. I guess that's it now, and I should probably go do some homework...or something. :)
