Sometimes it's really hard for me to write anything because I don't feel like I've done anything that's exceptionally noteworthy, but I'll try to update the things I've been doing lately. Lets start with the fact that basketball season has FINALLY started. Ok, so we've only had 2 exhibition games thus far, but really they've made my life that much greater. The Spectrum is an incredible place to be during a basketball game I won't lie. We did win both games of course, but to be honest, the team has got some work to do if they're hoping to have a season like last year. Losing Steve Ducharme, Kris Clark, and (obviously) Jaycee Carroll! :) has definitely taken its toll. I will seriously miss watching them play, and yes the first game was a little depressing specifically because of that. However, we've still got Gary Wilkinson, Tai Wesley, and Tyler Newbold with us to (hopefully) pick up some of that slack. Newcomers too, and I don't know all of their names yet, but here's what I do know. Brady Jardine, Jared Quayle, Matt Formisano, and Jaxon Myaer are by far my favorite. Not to mention they are quite attractive as well. :) I'm working on knowing the rest of the team but you gotta give me a little bit of a break it's only been 2 games! This Friday is the first real game and I can't wait! The days are back when we get to the stadium 3 1/2 hours before the game, and no that is not an exaggeration. I can't wait!
I finally finished the ward directory, which took a lot of time and work. But thank goodness it's done and I can relax from that for a little while. I've been hearing good things about it, which is nice because it was not easy!
It's been getting cold lately so we try to stay inside where it's nice and warm now. Of course there's those Starbucks runs too! I'm happy to say I've converted my roommates to the goodness of their hot chocolate. The snow hasn't stuck yet at our apartment, so that's still very nice! We just put up Christmas lights and they're adorable! And now I'm listening to Christmas music which I LOVE!
My mom, sister, and nieces came up last Friday to surprise me and it was fabulous! How nobody said anything to me though is totally beyond me. All my roommates knew and kept quiet for the whole week. Plus I talked to Andrea about 3 times on Thursday and she said nothing, not to mention talking to my mom twice when they were literally in the car! It was a great surprise though, and I was in serious need of a break. So we went to lunch and then went to Salt Lake for the night. We spent it hanging out with cousins and then Saturday morning went down to Temple Square and the conference center. It was beautiful of course, and I got some adorable pictures and videos of the girls! But all the brides! It must have been a very busy day there. It seemed like I couldn't walk 15 feet without seeing another newlywed couple. Very cute...but very crazy too. haha Then it was time to say goodbye and I went back home that night. Thanks to them for coming up and making my weekend great! I love them all and miss them so much!
Sunday nights are now game nights. We have all our friends come over to (duh) play games and have treats that I make. They are quite delicious, if I do say so myself. :) We've also been getting some new movies of late to further the whole "staying inside" concept. Kung Fu Panda was hilarious! I'm really not sure what the next one is going to be but I guess I'm going to have to start thinking about that soon!
Last night we made strawberry daquiris (due greatly to my awesome persuasion). I'm converting everyone! haha non-alcoholic of course so please don't question that, I am a good girl! They were so delicious and we had a lot of fun just hanging out! I did however also burn my hand on the toaster oven yesterday. :( Now there's a large blister and it's very painful. Well, I guess it was only a matter of time before that happened. My clumsiness I'm afraid will never be entirely gone.
What I'm currently waiting for (very anxiously! just ask anyone who knows me) is November 20th at midnight. Yes, twilight is FINALLY coming out. I'll admit that I know it is going to be terrible, BUT I'm hoping that if I can somehow get in the mindset of not comparing it to the book I'll be alright...ok lets be honest that is obviously not going to happen. So instead I'll spend the 2 hours (when I should be sleeping, or at the very least studying) analyzing every wrong move, line, and appearance. I will make a note of them all so don't even worry. I can almost guarantee it will be posted here very shortly after. :) It will be a fabulous night though nonetheless because it's all my best friends! I finally got all our tickets for the midnight showing and yes we do take up at least half of the theater, and also yes, I am proud! :) That night is also Danie's birthday so we'll be going out to dinner beforehand which will be fun. I'll update on all of that next week!
Anyways, I guess that's it for now because I have too much to do and I don't remember anything else! I know, bad memory, but at least I tried. There's pictures below this post, so enjoy. That's all. :)
